Smooth Jazz Music Festival at Sea

smooth jazz cruise

Since 2001, The Jazz Cruise has set the standard for jazz entertainment at sea, and, in the minds of many has become the most significant “straight-ahead” jazz event in the world. The musicians themselves call the program “Straight-Ahead Jazz Heaven”. The mega-ship's food hall wasn't nearly as diverse or exciting as the one on Norwegian Prima. While I would've preferred a quieter atmosphere (the DJ did not, in fact, play smooth jazz), the pool's views, day beds, and lack of screaming children were hard to beat. Since 1958, the nonprofit Monterey Jazz Festival has been committed to celebrating America's creativity and cultural heritage by presenting legendary jazz musicians, composers, and young rising stars. If you are traveling with a group and would like to be seated together, we can arrange a Dining Group for you and your friends.

If it were our choice, every guest would purchase trip insurance. Your investment for the cruise should be protected, so we urge you to purchase trip insurance. Please remember, restrictions do apply, so to secure the broadest coverage be careful to apply for the insurance in a timely manner. The ship's riff on Broadway-approved "Wizard of Oz" — 16-piece live orchestra and flying bed included — delighted me, a hater of most musicals. The 7,600-guest Icon of the Seas has seven pools and nine hot tubs. As a kid-fearing adult, I loved the grown-ups-only suspended infinity pool.

What time will I be able to attend the Main Shows?

Starting with a Women’s Impact Luncheon and opening night party on Friday, you can enjoy soulful music while taking in the sights of beautiful Miami. Have you ever wanted to see your favorite Artists compete against each other in a Family Feud style gameshow? Or perhaps participate in the annual Boney James vs. Brian Culbertson Ping-Pong tournament on the pool deck?

Anchored by an amazing main theater (The Theatre), which seats more than half our guests at one time, those ships have significant additional performance venues (Sky Lounge, Rendezvous Lounge, Foyer, Pool Deck). And, as we saw upon our first inspection of the ships, there is an amazing bonus venue. With a little imagination, we convert the main dining room (The Cosmopolitan Restaurant) into a performance venue every afternoon and a gorgeous jazz cabaret every evening.

At first glance, I had snubbed the dining and lounge area as a rip-off of a generic airport coffee shop. But during my three days on Icon, I returned to the centrally located space more often than expected. Plenty of family-friendly cruise ships have waterslides, but few have six — or even one that requires a multi-person raft. But of all the activities the new world's largest cruise ship has to offer, my eight favorites are, for the most part, ones I've yet to see on another vessel. The Montreal Jazz Fest is two weeks of amazing performances by artists including Laufey, Pink Martini, Ocean Alley, Elisapie. Held every spring since 1994, the Las Vegas City of Lights Jazz and R&B festival will be celebrating 10 years of bringing great music, food and shopping to Sin City.

JAZZ CRUISES PRESENTS STL JAZZ FEST ’24!

A Vibe Called Fest has you covered with the best list of jazz festivals to attend in 2024. The Smooth Jazz Cruise is the gold standard for jazz events, and we are dedicated to delivering an amazing jazz experience as we have for the last 20 years. When you board the cruise, we will provide you with a detailed schedule of music and events. We will also deliver to your stateroom a nightly update of schedule changes and news. The casual and formal dining areas have been transformed as well, giving the ship a sleeker and more contemporary look and feel. These ships continue to offer a fabulous array of dining choices, spectacular spa facilities and beautiful bars and lounges.

These are just a couple of the events that take place over the course of The Smooth Jazz Cruise. Be sure to bring your basketball shoes and pickleball paddles, as the Summit is equipped with an interactive sports court. Sometimes, The Smooth Jazz Cruise presents events just to have fun. We try not to share too much of this information now as it undermines the surprise element, but here are three types of events we produce just for the sheer enjoyment of doing so. Unparalleled presentation and production of the music is our hallmark and there are more top stars in this genre on the ship than on any cruise or at any festival in the world.

Capture the sights of the Everglades, an expanse of swampland known for natural beauty and abundant wildlife, including exotic birds, fish and the infamous alligators. Experience the local beaches and cafes, including the Arts & Sciences District; stroll the historic Riverwalk; and shop the boutiques on Las Olas Boulevard. Board a double-decker yacht or paddlewheeler-style boat and journey down the New River, out into the Intracoastal Waterway to Port Everglades, checking out the luxury houses and more. All Cruise Price and Pass-Through Charge payments made to date or paid in the future are non-refundable. Payments are refundable only when either Celebrity Cruises or The Smooth Jazz Cruise cancels or reschedules the cruise. Complimentary name changes and Guest additions will be accepted until 120 days prior to the cruise.

The guests motivate the musicians, who, in turn, up their game to further excite the guests. This upward spiral continues for 7 days and 7 nights, resulting in an immersive music and cultural experience that has created life-changing relationships among guests, musicians, and staff. The hosts and headliners are joined by very talented featured performers, three incredible bands and the amazing talents of DW3.

Late Payments, including credit cards on file being denied when presented for payment, are subject to a penalty of 6% of the invoice amount if payment is not received within seven (7) days of issuance of notice of late payment due. Jazz Cruises is excited to announce that the third edition of The Smooth Jazz Cruise On Land in St. Louis was a huge success. The first night was totally sold out and the second night came very close as well.

To arrange a Dining Group, please contact us with names of the guests in your party. We can accept requests for Dining Groups until one month prior to the sail date. All shows and events, other than Main Shows, are subject to open seating. This means that seats are not reserved and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. A guest may hold one seat for their stateroom companion, however, once a show begins, no one may hold a seat of any kind. The purchase of Travel Insurance/Trip Protection is strongly encouraged.
